Happy New Year!

We’ve been a little quiet here of late but we’ve not been resting on our laurels – nothing could be further from the truth! We had a monumentally busy November Bonfire Night season with our wonderful crews providing jaw-dropping displays up and down the country. One of which was the annual Scouts Fireworks Spectacular in Christchurch Park, Ipswich. Our intrepid firer (and amazing photographer!) Dee Cannavan was on hand once again to catch these amazing images;

Without time to take a deep breath we went straight from Guy Fawkes celebrations into Christmas Lights switch on events providing not just pyrotechnics and fireworks but also falling snow and spaceflower lighting effects! As you can see below, these can really add to your event so do get in touch if you’re interested and we can provide you with a very competitive quote;

And so we find ourselves in January! A time for reflection and rest – or so you may think! The quieter winter months are a time for making new hardware and fixing broken hardware that suffers from the rigours of the display site! It’s also time for thinking about how we can streamline processes to make our lives here a little easier to enable us to provide you with even more spectacular displays (is that even possible?!) We’re also out on the road meeting existing clients to talk about their 2019 displays and also to meet new clients wishing to also have some of the Alchemy Magic at their next event. One of our New Year’s resolutions though it to check in here more often with more exciting news and behind the scenes action. We wish all out customers past, present and future a very Happy New Year!

Wedding Fireworks to music

Wedding fireworks to music is our speciality. We were delighted to be back at the iconic and stunning location of Leeds Castle to fire a beautifully choreographed wedding fireworks display. We created the perfect mix of music for Sofia and Thomas based on their suggestions. Using the wireless capabilities of our state-of-the-art firing system FireOne and our own PA system we fired a magical display for the happy couple. If you’d like to know more about our wedding fireworks to music packages and prices check out our dedicated wedding fireworks website – Alchemy Wedding Fireworks

Magical Maritime in Ipswich

Golden Fireworks exploding over the marina for Ipswich Maritime Festival fireworks display

Alchemy Fireworks were delighted to once again provide the explosive entertainment for the Ipswich Maritime Festival. As part of this year’s celebrations we were asked to provide a short display of daylight fireworks consisting of noise effects such as screechers, whistles and reports and clouds of coloured smoke. We sourced some amazing new coloured smoke shells from our friends at Europla Pyrotechnics in Spain and along with these fired lifts of report shells and screecher candles. Daylight fireworks are not often seen in the UK and usually consist of coloured smoke effects, brightly coloured parachutes and a myriad of noise effects. Traditional fireworks don’t have a great deal of impact when fired in the daytime but daylight fireworks which are designed to have impact in bright sunlight really come into their own. They were certainly enjoyed by the crowds that had gathered at the Ipswich Maritime Festival. In the evening we produced a jaw-dropping choreographed display fired to a mix of recent chart hits. Fired from a disused part of the marina we can really create something spectacular. It’s a wonderful event to be a part of and the cheers from the audience at the end of the festival fireworks show topped off two extremely enjoyable displays. The beautiful photos are courtesy of Dee Cannavan. Dee is one of our firers and has just successfully completed her degree in photography. You can check out Dee’s facebook page here.

Happy Anniversary Leeds Castle classical concert!

Fireworks choreographed to live music is the ultimate challenge for any professional pyrotechnician. We love to rise to the challenge! The Leeds Castle classical concert is a mainstay in the Alchemy Fireworks summer calendar. It’s an absolute joy to be a part of such a prestigious event at such a wonderful venue. This year, the concerts’ ruby anniversary, meant that their was a very special atmosphere and the grounds were packed with concert goers and their picnics! Fireworks choreographed to live music included to the 1812 Overture and Pomp & Circumstance lit up the skies above the Castle to huge cheers from the audience. As the final bars of God Save the Queen rang out, we brought the concert to a jaw-dropping climax with a huge volley of fireworks including a 12″ shell underneath which we fired the number ’40’ in fireworks. The precision and technology of the hardware and the fireworks themselves means that with the correct placement on the ground and the correct timings down to the millisecond, we can create letters and numbers in the sky from the ground up. Pretty incredible stuff! Tickets for next year’s concert on Saturday 13th July are on sale already but don’t hang around because they WILL sell out! You can buy yours here!

Wedding vows and wedding WOWS!

We fire many wedding fireworks displays in Kent and last weekend we were delighted to be back at Leeds Castle to fire a wedding display for a lovely couple – Laura & George. The day was just perfect and the happy couple made the most of the beautiful grounds and facilities with the wedding in the Castle itself, a drinks reception in the Maidens Tower, back to the Castle for the Wedding Breakfast and then joined in the evening by more guests for a party in the Fairfax Hall. Leeds Castle itself is the most stunning wedding venue and is absolutely perfect for fireworks displays. If you’re thinking of getting married and are looking for a suitable venue that allows fireworks take a look at the Leeds Castle website. The display that Laura & George had chosen was designed to an eclectic mix of their favourite music which was great fun to choreograph to. Our dedicated wedding fireworks website has packages available to suit all budgets and requirements. We don’t just provide wow-factor wedding fireworks in Kent. We work nationwide and any travel costs are included in our prices. Laura & George’s display fell between a Platinum & Diamond package but they kept the duration down for maximum impact. Here’s what Laura & George had to say;

Sparkling Wedding Fireworks

With the summer wedding season in full swing the wedding fireworks display arm of the business Alchemy Wedding Fireworks is flat out providing amazing wedding fireworks up and down the country. By far the most popular package is the Gold Package – probably because it includes choreography to the wedding couples’ favourite music and also because it’s great value for money. Speaking of value, some bride and grooms are happy to just see a few sparkles at their wedding without the razzmatazz  of music and for this reason we introduced the Value Package. Starting at just £620 + vat (dependent on location) it packs one hell of a punch! Here it is fired over a four minute duration but for extra wow factor it can be fired in two minutes to be a real sky filler!

Wedding vows and wedding WOWS!

Alchemy Fireworks provide many wedding fireworks displays throughout the summer. More and more often we get asked for quiet wedding fireworks displays at noise sensitive venues – usually because of nearby neighbours or livestock. When cleverly choreographed to music a quiet fireworks display can be equally as impressive as it’s noisier counterpart! We have a dedicated wedding fireworks website at www.alchemyweddingfireworks.co.uk . It contains lots of useful information that you need to consider when planning to have a fireworks display at your wedding as well as information on the packages and prices that we offer.

Wedding displays are usually much more personal than large public events. We’ll meet the bride and groom fairly early on and guide them through the process from putting the music together for their display, taking on board any ideas they have for the show or effects that they want to see, right through to firing their display on their big day and seeing their reactions. Here is just some feedback that we’ve recently received;

Below are just three of the wedding fireworks displays that we have recently provided. The first one for Emily and Fazz used quiet and noisy fireworks but the last two videos were quiet fireworks displays choreographed to music. I’m sure you’ll find that they are equally as impressive as a full on display!

Concert at the Castle

Saturday saw Alchemy Fireworks produce 3 magnificent displays to 3 separate pieces of music at the Leeds Castle Classical Concert. This iconic event was held in the most spectacular location and natural amphitheater in front of the beautiful Leeds Castle. The concert not only featured so many popular classics, that audiences have come to associate with the event, but the audience also enjoyed the addition of some of John Williams’ most iconic film themes.

We also had a new host, Aled Jones MBE, who presented this magnificent and memorable concert, the highlight of the Kent event calendar.

The concert celebrated its 38th year with a wonderful programme of music and entertainment from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Rigby. Also performing were, The Definitive Rat Pack; the world’s finest interpreters of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.  Soloists Frances McCafferty and Anthony Flaum and the P&O Ferries Choir also be returned to the stage.  This fantastic night of patriotic flag-waving finished with a spectacular firework finale by Alchemy Fireworks. Firing to live music has its challenges – nothing can be pre-programmed because an orchestra can play the pieces at slightly different speeds to recorded versions. So it’s a case of knowing the music, and the performance of the fireworks, off by heart. Needless to say, we bought a little Alchemy magic to the event and the fireworks were met with rapturous applause and cheers!

Flower Power!

Monday took us to Hampton Court for the RHS Flower Show Gala Preview evening. Our 7th year of firing the display and it was a return to a purely classical mix of music combined with a very closely choreographed show and lighting and projections from STL Production Group. You can read more about this display here.
