IDEAS THAT CHANGE THE GAME
From the outset, we bring our ideas, wealth of experience and extensive expertise to the drawing board. From our first conversation with you, we’ll put you at ease that we’re the right choice.
SKETCHING AND PLANNING
Once we have your qualitative brief, we can go about plotting in the fundamentals – colours, shapes, climactic points, music – we start to create the theatre of the Alchemy experience. These foundations make for a solid base on which to build the finer details for your fireworks display.
Fireworks are a dance – so many competitors make the mistake of missing depth. Our recent Hampton Court 25th Anniversary is a good example of how silence can be just as effective as booming explosions.
FIREWORK SELECTION – THE FINER POINTS
Whether it be hand-crafted lance-work sculptures, or the very shape of a trio of rocket explosions in the night sky, we design every aspect of our shows – nothing is left to chance. We select each device, each firework, and each moment to perfection.
Take a look at the flaming millionth runner that we created by hand for the Great North Run – a detailed, moving running woman in fire rope, travelling down the River Tyne ablaze to cross the finish line.
DEVELOP & LEVERAGE CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY
Learning never stops for us at Alchemy – we’re constantly striving to improve upon our every methodology, increase viewer satisfaction and enhance the effect of each laser routine. We take notes, video and stills to evaluate every single show we do.
Through our self-development lab, we have progressed to bigger shows, achieved more accurate sync to music, discovered the finest daytime fireworks, and invested in drone footage.
SAFETY IN NUMBERS – TESTING & FIXING
Safety is the most important aspect of any show – we deal with explosives on a daily basis so we understand that better than anyone! Our staff are all tested, certified and retested regularly to ensure safety is paramount – and our head designer, Glenn, is BPA Level 2 qualified, the highest qualification currently available in the UK firework industry.

3…2…1… FIRE
On the big day: we arrive and like an army, set up, lay miles of cable, fuses, fields of fireworks, and their mounting frames. We test all of the connections, we dummy run, and we do it again. When we’re happy that everything’s good to go, we wait for night fall, and lie in wait for our cue.
When the time comes, the button is pushed – and we micro-manage the firing system for any last minute adjustments, responding to the crowd in kind.
SOFTWARE MONITORING & PRE-VISUALISATION
To us, it’s an airshow for rockets – and we’re air traffic control – we intend to show off what they can really do but that means incredible timing, and accuracy – Whether it be set to music, a stage show, or colourful daytime fireworks.
We can show you in advance what your show will look like with computer software, we can share the exact plans with you, and pre-visualise the whole thing – as well as carefully time and monitor with the same software on the night.
